ECO4 Commonly asked questions

The energy company obligation (ECO) scheme is a UK government-backed initiative, aimed at improving the
energy efficiency of homes across the UK.

Introduced in 2013, the ECO initiative requires energy suppliers to install cost – effective energy energy saving
solutions in some of the UK’s most vulnerable properties, without breaking the bank of eligible homeowners.

ECO4 Is the 4th generation of the scheme and is scheduled to run until 2026.

The measures available under the scheme currently are Boiler Upgrades, Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar Panels, Cavity Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation, Solid Wall Insulation (Internal/External), Underfloor Insulation, Flat
Roof Insulation, Room In Roof Insulation, Smart Heating Controls & More!

If you’re a homeowner or tenant and part of the Help to Heat Group (HTHG), you could be eligible for ECO4.
Being an HTHG member means you receive one of these benefits and meet the income requirements:

– Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
– Income-related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
– Income Support (IS)
– Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
– Working Tax Credit (WTC)
– Child Tax Credits (CTC)
